Pending Acceptance

I have created two SmugMug accounts just to see how the sharing feature works. From my main account I try to invite my other account to access a folder containing several galleries.
I log out from my main SmugMug account, and then accept the invitation that arrives in my mail account. I log into my other account, only to see that nothing is being shared with this account. I then log into my main SmugMug account, where I can see that the invitation is Pending Acceptance.
Why is this? Why won't clicking on the invitation and loggin in to the SmugMug account activate the invitation?

Thank you - I will. I saw in this forum that someone else had the exactly same problem, but the only answer given was that one of the heroes would reach out to him.
Deleting the contact from the contact list, and then re-sending the invitation did the trick.
