Searching for IPTC Location

I have been uploading photos from Lightroom to SmugMug. They mostly contain a fair amount of IPTC information including location info , such as country, city, etc. When I look at the information next to each image that is uploaded into SmugMug that location information appears exactly as it is contained in the IPTC fields. However, if a user tries to search for location information on the photosite, e.g. country, it yields 0 results. Is it not possible to search on the IPTC data?
