They're an old subject for me but I keep trying to photograph them in new ways. Criticism would be welcome.

I love #2 I bet it would work well in B&W too, greens tend to produce nice grays.

I totally agree.
Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity!
Very good, Don. #1 and #3 for me....with #3 being the strongest. I'd say you've about mastered the agave plant.
Absolutely stunning. Freaking posters. Feel tiny bit jealous!
Bravo Don!
These are all gorgeous but I think my favorite is # 2.

I like no 3.
You makin' tequila with these?
Thank you all for the comments. The first and third were shot with a wide-angle lens. I wouldn't ordinarily do that. Sometimes just changing lenses makes us break habits.

Willard, Google tells me that tequila is made with agave tequilana. These are a different variety. Darn.

Don....
All very excellent images. Number 3 is my pick of the set. The composition, light fall-off and subject balance within the frame come together perfectly. Visually, presents the eye with lots to look at, leading lines both receding into and expanding outward from the image. Enlarged and matted, this could certainly be a wall-hanger and catalog image.
Thanks for sharing these.

Legit, either one of these could be hanging on the walls of some of the multi-million dollar estates I get to photograph. These are great!
Thanks, JonaBeth. I might display one in my decidedly more modest home.
