How do I create a gallery preset?

I read the Help - it seems to say, just open the Settings for a gallery, type in a name for Gallery Preset, and Save. Except that I can't type in the "Gallery Preset" field - all I can do is select an existing preset.

I've read the Help a few times and - I give up. How do I create a preset?

Did you change anything in the settings? You might have to do that and then select an existing preset and click "save as" changing to a new name.

But the point is that I don't want to change any of them; I want to use them as a Preset.

And there are no existing presets other than the SM Default.

I just checked my site and I am seeing the same thing that you see (except that I do already have a gallery preset existing) - even when I chose a gallery that did not use the preset and does not use the default settings.

I changed one setting in a gallery and I am now given the option to save the settings as a gallery preset. I changed the setting back to my desired setting and the option to save as a gallery preset is still available.

Change something, then change it back - clever.

But it would be nice if this actually worked, as described in the Help.
