The Death Cap Amanita phalloides
This is the deadliest mushroom in Europe, perhaps in the whole world. Half a cap is enough to kill an adult human.
It is a woodland species but I have seen them only in a minority of local woods.
The cap is variable in colour but usually greenish. The gill are white.
These have been nibbled, some wildlife being immune to the toxin.
The stereo is crosseye.
I have darkened the images to control highlights to some extent.
