Thumb Highlight for Large Photo

Is there a way to highlight the thumb of current large photo?
I'd like to display a color border to the thumb of the current large photo.

This has been discussed long ago but maybe with new changes it's possible.
Way back, originally it did work.

It is very difficult to figure which thumb is for the large photo.
Especially when photos are similar.
