The name comes from the orange to red liquid which oozes from a cut stem.

We tend to find them in one or two locations, in a wood, when doing a one-day survey of woodlands. They grow on rotten wood.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/50 at f8 ISO 2500, hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye.
