I awoke to some whiteness in the garden this morning - and despite the cold, ventured out into the garden to see if I could get anything of note.
I lasted around 10 minutes but before heading back indoors. Then after my first edits, 40 minutes later I went to revisit the berry I had found, but in that time the ice had all but melted so I couldn't improve on that one which I wanted to.
However, here are the ones I took in the bracing morning air...

Those moss spore capsules are a nice bit of colour.
The velvet mite (?) has a mould on it with some spore capsules. Worth a closer look?

It's not any sort of mite Harold, it's actually a fallen berry (but it does look insectish!
