Prevent Adblockers from hiding social media icons

I was talking with a fellow photographer friend today and he said I should add social media links to my website. I have several, and in the end we realized that his website extension that blocks ads was preventing my social media icons from showing on my site. Does anyone know of a way to add my social media without Adblockers flagging them as advertisements?

That's the first time I've heard about that. Those are just links. Do you have a link where the AdBlockers are blocking the social links?
What AdBlocker do you use and what browser?

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the response. So, he's using Google Chrome with the original "AdBlock". I also use this, though I turned mine off when I started working on my site so I had not experienced the same issue until he mentioned it and went to test it out for myself. It hides my social media icons. I am using the link / icon combos built into the SmugMug customization, so nothing fancy on my end. I tested it on Firefox and Opera and both sites have the same Adblock extension, but don't block my link icons from showing. I find it concerning that the links are blocked on Chrome since that's a pretty popular browser and AdBlock is a popular extension. I'm wondering if I should put my links and icons in using CSS, or if that would even make a difference? Thank you for your input
I just added a Social Icon Block to my testing site and using Windows 10, Chrome 96.0.4664.110 and AdBlock and they display fine.
