This weekend we went to the Ica and Paracas region of Peru, South of Lima. The Peruvian coast is a very dry desert, however the Humboldt current creates a unique environment where marine life thrives.

  1. The den

  2. Wounded warrior

7.

Southern Peru is also wine and pisco country, we stayed at a hotel in a fantastic vineyard

8.

These are old pisco fermenting containers, once the grapes were macerated, the containers were filled and then burried for fermentation.

This is a brilliant set Cristobal!! Just joy to view! Display of excellence!

For #5, yes the wall has value, but I think bit tight and balanced pano crop would be better.

For #6, the birds in bg are making it too busy and unappealing. Cloning them all out is hard so this one is least favorite.

Nice set, Cristóbal.#2 really grabs my attention.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks Taz, always good to hear your thoughts on composition and technique. Regarding #6, yes the birds in the background may be distracting but it is one of my favorite pics of the set. It’s a wounded male that lost a fight and is healing, lonely, with the exception of the seagull.

Thanks Tom, an additional effect of the Humboldt current is fog, fog and then some.

A great set of images. #3 in particular catches m eye. The colors, texture and lines as the waves break on the beach.

Thank you Phil, that beach is called Red Beach “Playa Roja” due to the color of the sand.

    Cristobal....

Wonderful and well taken set of images.

I visited the area during my trip to Peru, albeit way, way back in 1990. Glad to see it is still beautiful.

Thanks for posting these and for the memories.
