Will not accept Gallery Preset

I have set up numerous Gallery Presets over the last year or so. My problem is, when I apply a preset with a photo protection watermar to a new or existing gallery, the watermark is not applied. I have to try about twenty times to get the watermark to appear. This can take maybe ten to fifteen minutes, a real pain! I do this through the organize tab. Any ideas please?
