Sort images randomly in a gallery

So this is a weird one...

I've been looking through old threads on here to see if there is a way of randomising the order in which photos in my portfolio galleries show up - clearly it's better for them to mixed up rather than in batches from individual weddings for example - threads going back to 2010 - 12 years ago! - asking for this feature to be implemented. Elementor sorts images randomly as a matter of course when I make Wordpress sites for clients, so I'm wondering why something so simple has managed to stump SM for so long...?!

Any thoughts appreciated?
