I'm no bird photographer so this was a grabbed opportunity. I saw a bird bounding along our lawn in an exaggerated way. I knew it wasn't a usual suspect, probably a Green Woodpecker, as it was.
I had to find my camera and attach the telephoto, find suitable settings and ease my way silently out of the back door. I could only shoot through a gap in the vegetation, about halfway between me and the bird. (Green fuzz, bottom right).
I got 2 shots before it flew off.
The images are about 50% crops.
Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Panasonic 100 - 400mm Leica DG Vario-Elmar at 400mm 1/100 at f11.
