"Make this Folder Custom" is not inherited in sub-folders

I'd like about half of my galleries not to have the map content block, and they conveniently are under a single folder hierarchy. However, I've discovered that the Make this Folder Custom option does not descend into child folders. Is there an easy way of having a template or custom layout that I can apply to some folders without dragging and dropping the content block in or out every time?

In each gallery go to settings > Appearance > turn "Enable Map feature" off

Define a preset to cover different sets of settings.
