While I was driving to my normal spot I noticed this Red Tail sitting on the side of the road so I turned around and got these from across the road.

I parked my car in the forest preserve and took a walk to where he was sitting but he flew off before I could get in range. I stalked him a little further and he flew right at me but I wasn't realdy so I missed the oportunity:cry. Maybe next time.

I decided to try out Bemis woods since I had never shot there and got a couple shots. This is the best shot I've been able to get of the Kingfisher so far.

And here is a 100% crop unprocessed. Not too bad for ISO1600.

I also got some deer but I'll put those in another post.

Good captures under very, very difficult conditions. Kingfishers are just pure evil.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
