Smugmug & Credit Card Info

I have had a paid Smugmug site for several years but may have to reconsider. My subscription is renewed in January but the credit card I use expired last month (May). Now whenever I go to my site there is a huge, very annoying (and repetive) banner at the top of the site trying to get me to update my credit card info - even though it will not be needed for more than 7 months. Why should I update now? I could understand if I was within 1 month of renewing but this just smacks of greed and makes it look like Smugmug puts money above everything else. Very very annoyed right now.

I'm guessing that they want an up-to-date credit card because it can be used if you purchase prints or products in addition to renewing your account when it expires.

I recommend you contact SmugMug support directly for the correct answer. While SmugMug support staff do check in here periodically, this forum is (usually) monitored by volunteers.

Thanks for the response. Sales are turned off on my account - and I have never purchased anything through Smugmug - that is not what I use the site for. I will contact support but as I said previously - this just smacks of greed.

Even with sales turned off you can purchase ptints of your photos. No one else can.
