posting links on facebook

I recently noticed that when I post a link to an image on facebook that facebook shows a different image from the same gallery. Has anyone else experienced this? It happens whether I use the share photo function or post the link directly.

Basically facebook seems to drop off the last part of the image url. Interestingly, posting a link from flickr works.
