darktable 4.6.0 is out

The Christmas release of darktable, version 4.6.0 is now out. Highlights include:

  • a new module 'rgb primaries', aiding colour manipulations, providing a simplified interface for channel mixing (https://discuss.pixls.us/t/new-primaries-module/39205);
  • the primaries feature is also integrated directly into the ''sigmoid' tone mapper (see https://discuss.pixls.us/t/introducing-primaries-feature-for-sigmoid/40450);
  • AVIF/HEIF support has been enhanced;
  • manual vignetting correction (to augment the automatic one);
  • linear ProPhoto support for 3D LUTs;
  • Display P3 support;
  • CPIP support for PNG and AVIF;
  • more OpenEXR metadata support;
  • lens corrections using embedded metadata for Olympus ORF files;
  • updated LUA scripting support;
  • enhanced camera support for various Canon, Fujifilm, ImBack, Leica, Nikon, OM System, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung, Sigma, Sinar, Sony devices.

There are also many performance and stability enhancements, including being able to disable GPU acceleration for broken video drivers.
