I want to close my account. There doesn't appear to be an option to do this anywhere?

    Yes, I asked permission to leave the posts but remove identification.

    OK. It's usually the other way round. People take their images and leave the posts probably remaining members, (Other websites I am familiar with).

    Yes, or someone gets us pissed off enough that we ban the person and delete all the posts. That may create confusion if the posts are part of a thread with replies, so when possible I like to keep the posts (if they are not obnoxious). But anyone who wants to close their account can choose what to do with their content.
