This is the mushroom of Beatrix Potter and many others. It is usually intense red, sometimes orange, with white volval remnants on the cap, which may be washed off by rain.
These were in a local wood in October 2021.
Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus m4/3 30mm f3.5 ED macro, f8 ISO 2500, hand-held.
