Auto update of Gallery Settings via API's or other ways?

I am trying to see if there might be a way using APIs (or some other way) to set-up an automated refresh of gallery settings? I am using the smugmug desktop uploader (MacOS) and it's default is to set the galleries to "Private" but I want to have these galleries updated multiple/many times during the day to "Public" so I can share the links and someone else can access the gallery(s). Would something from Pipedream or other places be a starting place? I am reasonable conversant in css/php/html but have not used API's before...Any thoughts on solutions?
