Wow, this was harder than I thought it would be...so many lovely entries! These particularly struck me:
@shawnc I love the prickly pear and the Mexican golden poppies--these make me want to live closer to a desert!
@slpollett The sunflowers and the blue bonnets are so nice, but I especially love the Indian Blanket!
@sapphire73 I've never heard of a Montana Bluet, very nice. Oh, those spring walks in the woods!
@bfluegie The white tulips!
@sarasphotos I may need to start carrying a camera on bike rides...wonderful images!
All very nice, but here are my choices:
3rd place: @slpollett for Indian Blanket
2nd place: @bfluegie for the White Tulips
and
1st place goes to: @shawnc for the Prickly Pear Cactus Bloom! Shawn, it's up to you now to start another mini-challenge!

    Kate, thanks for the nice comments and congrats to the winners.

    And BTW Kate, I made the decision in 2010 to go with the Micro 4/3 system because about 90% of my photos are either taken during a bike ride or walking around some city we're visiting, so weight is a real issue. My main camera (OM System OM-5) with an all-purpose zoom lives in my bike handlebar bag and the camera/lens combi weighs under 1 kilo and it's compact enough to stick in my medium-sized purse when we are in a city.

    I'm so glad I didn't have to judge this mini! There were so many beautiful photos of gorgeous blooms. Thank you for my 3rd place & congrats to Shawnc for the win. I look forward to the next mini.

    Kate, thank you so much for running this lovely mini! You may have heard Montana Bluets referred to a Bachelor's Buttons or Mountain Bluet?

    Congratulations to @shawnc for the Prickly Pear Cactus Bloom 1st place, @bfluegie for the White Tulips 2nd place, and @slpollett for Indian Blanket 3rd place. I enjoyed seeing all the lovely spring blossoms people shared!
