What's your one best sports shot...the one you show people when they say "show me"? I'd love to see them!

I've got a few...this one may not be my best but it is my favorite:

the only thing I wish is that I'd gotten it just a split second earlier, with the ball coming out of his crosse.

chuck, you set the standards pretty high!!! My best shots are cycling as well, but they pale in comparison.

I'm only posting this one because it made it into a magazine:

That's a great shot...always love the cycling pix. I've spent enough time at the Tour to get a little lucky.

Congrats on the mag publish too...very worthy, except that he's not a roadie. :tiptoe jk!

The first pic I had published and a very brave rider passing on the brakes. Farquhar, on the inside, is braking on oil covered with cement dust as he passes Martin on the last corner to win the race.

My roadie shots never made it past local papers. ne_nau.gif

I guess you could call me a roadie too, though, so I had the same disappointment in myself. I keep hoping my cyclocross shots will get some attention somewhere. Maybe this fall.

I'm supremely jealous that you've "spent enough time at the tour". I've spent a good portion of my life watching it on tv, does that count? Watched every tour since Greg LeMond's first win. nod.gif Not to mention the repeated times we've watched various tours while doing winter trainer riding in the basement.

In truth, I don't have a particular favorite. I'd probably opt for showing one of the most recent shots that I've taken, but for the sake of posting something, I'll throw this one up.

Same here...been a rider & cycling fan since the mid-80's, 7-11 days, etc. All I can say is it's worth going to see in person and doing as cheap as possible. But it's NOTHING like tv...the intensity at the finish of each stage is beyond belief and even more electric on the serious days like mountain summits, TT's, etc. Check my 05 album if you want:

Also...I've got a slideshow that I did for friends/family if you want the experience. Not all the best pix but a fun way to blow 15 minutes. :)

    Best sports shot
Those are some great images that have been posted so far. This is a cool thread....

I love to shoot sports. I have done motorcycle races, high school track and XC, swimming, triathlons, etc.

But my first love is cycling. I took a lot of local bike race shots last year. And no I don't live in France so no Lance images. But I do like this one that I took at our local crit one evening while experimenting with flash fill.

Holy cow Charles, how are we supposed to match your Lance pics? ne_nau.gifLaughing.gif Excellent work, BTW clap.gif

Almost every one of the pics in this thread could easily appear in a sports magazine. Top quality work gentlemen thumb.gif

Wish I could contibute, but most folks here have already seen what little I could offer up. None of them on par with these shots.

Again, really nice pics guys!! I's impressed....lol

Thanks, I love that one too. That was at the summit of Pla d'Adet this past year. Literally 150m from the line. He looks so intense and like he's out for a lazy Sunday ride. Not at the summit of 10 grueling kilometers at 9% gradient.

Hmmmm...that REALLY looks like Tyler but I don't think he road with Postal on that Trek color scheme. That could be Andrea Tafi tho. On second thought I don't know if he road with Prodir back that far...
