New Fisheye Lens At Night

I'm taking the New York Institute of Photography course and getting ready to hand in my first assignment. One of the themes is 'motion'.

I decided to combine that with the Peleng 8mm that arrived this evening.

Your thoughts?

IN this shot, I don't think the fisheye effect adds to the theme, but hides it. You might try getting a car in closer, near the curve, where the fisheye lens would highlight the subject, rather than obscure it.

Yeah, I have to say, there's little about this shot that grabs me. The curve of the fisheye is somewhat slanted, and the motion is definitely across the middle, where you see the least distortion. The car that isn't moving, up in the right corner, is really distorted and distracting. You just got it last night, fisheye's aren't easy, so keep at it!

This shot doesn't really say 'motion' to me, the tractor trailer or whatever is just a solid streak, and everything else is fairly static. But since you have that 8mm fisheye, I've always wanted to see what a solid pan or rotation would look like with a distorted super wide.

It looks like there is a large amount of cropping done on the photo which might explain for the lack of any fishyness. On a 1.6x camera you have the corners cut off but on a full frame you should have a almost circular image frame.

It's not bad, I'm still working on my Peleng as well. :D
