Just two ?'s.....please help

I am a new grinner (former lurker) and I've read how it's a little tedious for you guys to answer the same question over and over. So question #1 is what is the best way to find answers to specific questions?

I already have my pro smugmug site up (http://digital-memories.smugmug.com), but it's still fledgling. I also have a domain name that I purchased and I heard that it's possible to send all traffic from my domain name to my smugmug site automatically. Under my account settings, there is a place for domain name. If I type in http://www.digital-memories.org, will that take my traffic to my smugmug site? A friend of mine is currently hosting my domain name and I don't have a working web page yet as learning HTML code is proving to be a little more challenging than I thought. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for making us new guys feel welcome!
