Is this normal practice?

Check this out. I had sold my D2H and 2 weeks later this guy claims there is dust on the sensor and that he has to buy the adaptor for the mirror lockup.
I responded that I'm sorry that there is dust, but I didn't notice any on it when I had it.
He responded tonight with:
"This is my first buy and maybe is to late for me to ask for return.Myself I see not a big problem.B&H photo has one for $75.I do not ask for money but I think is fare to split the price."
:huh
Uh...is it wrong for me to think that I shouldn't have to pay for this??
BTW, this guy isn't on DGrin, so I know I'm not stepping on toes here.

Does the power adapter thingie come with the body? i know canon bodies have them. Anyway, Dust on a sensor is a cost of doing business. In 2 weeks he could of caused other damage to the body. Unless you find the adapter, i don't think you have any responsibility at this point.

If the adapter came with the camera, then offer to split the price or send
him the adapter. However, if it was an accessory, say so and do not offer
payment.
Dust on the sensor is always a risk. At 2w post sale, who knows if it was
you or the buyer?

Since it doesnt come with the body I think you have 0 responsibility at this point.
