Above, I just thought that was a cool shot, the moon is in it, I think it shrunk, smile. Wanted to say that that is full frame. I couldn't figure out how to crop it to make it any better. Lots of my photographs are full frame, but that one could have been a crop easily, it is just interesting to me, anyway, that it came that way out of the camera.

gosh am I tired!

Great, Ginger. I knew you of all people would have a blast with this lens. It's like strapping on the gauntlets of power, isn't it.

I'm sure this is just the start.
    If not now, when?

G..its the same diameter as your 400mm (77mm) so you only need to buy one circular polariser.

I agree. That is such a fun lens.

Hey, not to rain on your parade, and I know how you feel about cleaning your sensor, but you may want to run through these images and clean up some of the schmutzies in the images from the goobers on your sensor.

I did, I got the moon!!!

I saw the moon on the way from church to there. I even said the moon was why I needed to take the photos THEN. I was going to take the moon with my 400 as I knew there was no way to get it with a wide angle lens.

Then I forgot the moon until after we left.

But I got it, I didn't even see it. That was just about the last shot I worked up. Since I missed the moon, you can imagine that I missed dust spots. I even changed lenses on the beach, more stuff on my sensor, I am sure. The photos with the longer lens were not as good as the ones with that ultra wide, so I decided not to include them.

Yes, I am trying to clean up clear areas, like the sky because of the sensor, but I do see one spot in the moon shot that I missed, and I am sure there are more.

Thanks everyone for looking. I knew that lens was something special, I just knew it!

Actually, the birds were perfect for it, as a subject. I can't imagine a followup to them.

    Thanks, again, all.

I like them all, but that last shot is.... WOW.

I love the 3 "partial" birds on the edges that kind of frame the one whole gull that's in a perfect position. Awesome.

the shoreline perfectly frames the bottom of the shot in this one:

    55334062-S.jpg

In my opinion, it frames it better than the "artificial" frame you used for that last one.

Good gosh, I am overwhelmed with "praise"!

Uh, Dr It, that artificial frame in the last one, it is exactly as I saw it in the LCD window. However I can understand you liking the other one better, it is just that the other one is just as natural. In fact, I had to straighten the horizon on the one you like, whereas the other one, there was no cropping or adding done at at all. They are birds, just happened to be in that position.

But good gosh, thanks all!!!! I am, as I said, overwhelmed. And a bit scared as I cannot imagine a better subject for that lens. I actually was trying to copy a photo in a magazine that was taken with a wide angle. I did not get anywhere near that photo. As usual, I got my own photos.ne_nau.gif

    Thanks again,
and you all playing down in Florida, enjoy!
