had dinner the other night at one of the fanciest restaurants in Manhattan as my firm celebrated a good year (it's one of those places that if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it!) and took a couple of pics of Columbus Circle which is between 58th and 59th Street off the southwest corner of Central Park ...both shots handheld...17-85 IS

hope you enjoy...Keith

thumb.gif The first one is really interesting. I love how the car headlights make a halo around the statue. The reflections are mind twisters (for me at least headscratch.gif ). It took me a minute to figure out why the letters are backwards.

    Keep on sharing.
Lord, keep my words sweet. Someday, I may have to eat them.

what's the shutter speed onthe 2nd one, it looks somewhat long. and handheld? dang steady hands, it looks like; even w/IS I'd imagine a long shutter to be more of a problem than it looks here.

Yes, both shots were handheld with image stabilization...isn't it wonderful? I do try to concentrate on keeping steady (especially since i didn't have a tripod and was walking along the street! Not only that, it was at f/8.0 and 1600 ISO!

    Regards and thanks for looking....Keith
