I have a day to myself in Montreal next week. Where are some good photo ops?
Don't miss the food ops, Crescent Street if I remember correctly.
I happen to believe Montreal is one of the best Canadian cities to visit, so enjoy! Lots and lots to see and eat. The LL link above has many highlights listed.

I would not suggest you to go to Quebec City since youll lost lots of time getting there, and you're only there for a week end. I am from montreal, check out Old Port, Mont Royal, Crescent street, Olympic Stadium. Marché Jean-Talon... etc
Old Port and the downtown area are great areas for architecture/street photography type opportunities. Every time I go, I like to spend at least a day in this area. It's a great place to just walk around ...
The other great thing about Montreal is the metro. Can get you just about anywhere east to west, north to south. It's also on rubber tires, not rails.
