no, no, don't cry, i LOVE this photo.......what great timing, only the track from the tail describes the movement, and i think that's wonderful
I like the duck, very cool .I am going to have to find a place to take some shots like this. With still water. Everything really close here is moving water.
I love it! Looks like he is skidding on ice. I guess you don't have ice in LA tho. It works as it is, I like movement in a picture like this, but then again it would be an awesome shot if it were nailed.

Personally, Jeff, I think you nailed this one. The feet are just fractions of an inch off the water and the mallard's tail feathers are dragging in the water.
I think that I would have used a little more Unsharp Mask on the photo. I did a copy and pasted it into PS and did a UM on it and it really brought out the detail. You should get great results with UM on the full size image. I also did a slight color adjustment to make the image a little "cooler." If you took the image in RAW you should be able to adjust the temp a little cooler and get the correct color balance.
I will attach the example only if you request it.

Cool series Jeff. I know you'd prefer to have the ducks feet touching down, but I really like it the way it is. Very nice action captured
no i really like the feet the reflection is good in the org. but color ect i am not happy with I have him in a 8 shot string flying in all the way to float --thanks for the comment what i was saying was nailing the exposer -I need to be a little clearer

Dixie,
Just wondering if those are USM halos I see around the breast, bill, and head?
The color shift is nice and the USM did bring out more detail. I just think you may have over-done the USM a touch.
Just my $.02 worth.
