    i love pictures from there... but have never been able to figure out where Mono lake is.... can anyone help me outheadscratch.gif

    Daniel, type "mono lake" into the text box in Google Earth and it will fly you there. :):

    Mono-lake is a salty lake located in the eastern sierra. mosly tufa rock and the surrounding area are volcanoes.

    It's east of Yosemite
    and so salty you float. But if you swim in it, you come out with brine shrimp in places you don't want them!

    also you can see so little insect on the ground, they are thousand of them, kind of nasty.

    Vermenton, from what I have monolake is very spectular. Looks like a great place to visit.

    i made a trip there once a few years ago, my one and only visit to california. it is quite other wordly. i wish i had a camera at the time that would have done it justice.

    i will post sometime to another thread so as not to hijack this one.

    actually, that might be an interesting continuing thread.....views from mono lake.....just a thought
