Global Gallary Password Removal

I have lots of galleries all with password protection. Now that I understand (I think) smugmug security, I would like to remove gallery passwords and use my site password only.

My questions is can I globally remove all gallery passwords without going in one at a time and deleting them? :dunno

Thank you in advance for the help.

    wave.gif Hi Focus,

I'm sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you, but I don't. You'll need to go into each and remove the PWs.

But wait! You should know that doing that might make your photos publicly searchable. Read this thread for more information:

If you want your photos to be truely password protected, you need to have gallery passwords on every gallery.

For example, see someones wife underwater in a bikini:

I'm guessing they think their account password is protecting that picture. If that was my wife I wouldn't want it on the internet for everyone to see.

Anyone at smugmug, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure what the question is yet?

It's more of a statment than a question. Keyword searches index accounts even if site passwords are set. It's a little known bug that doesn't get the attention it deserves.

I'm just trying to make more people know about it, and be concerned about it. It's an issue that I'm sure affects a lot of people, but they just don't realize their pictures aren't as protected as they assumed. I want more people to know about the problem and ask for a solution. As long as its just me and the others on an old thread, http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=6021, I don't think there is going to be progress on this issue any time soon.

The thread may be old, but it's not dead, I can promise you that. Our engineers are aware of the issue. Thanks!
