That scares the hell out of me that a big box store would carry what is essentially a low-end pro camera... Most of their sales staff don't know nearly enough to sell this properly.

Thanks for the heads up but it's sold out already...:cry

I went into a shop yesterday looking for one. They guy said, with a confused look on his face, they sold out. He did however try sell me a D50 "because they are nearly the same"headscratch.gif

Granted, it was a general electronics store and not a camera shop.

    Oh well, my wait continues.:cry

You have to make the assumption when buying from a place like that (I bought one from them) that they know nothing, they won't be able to help with problems unless the problem is blatantly obvious and that will only use Nikon for repairs and warranty issues. So if you go into with that mindset, you're ok. They're just looking to make profit obviously. I know they don't expect their employees to know much about these cameras. I think they're mainly targeting people that already know somthing about cameras and not the point-n-shoot crowd looking to upgrade a little. Not many people that usually use a point-n-shoot would be willing to spend $1,700 for a camera with NO lens....Laughing.gif
