I headed off early on an invitation to photograph some downhill mountain bike racing. I was told the 2nd & 3rd fastest in the world were likely to be there so i was keen. Bit of an underground scene here from what i make of it.
Now we havnt had any rain for a long time...the city only has drinking water
Wow........what a pretty place....... don't you just love being in that kind of vegetation Gus always looks calm and peaceful this type of scenery.
Hope you had a great day........ Skippy (Australia)
Super nice shots!
Makes you wonder why in the hell anyone would wanna hack down the trees in such a amazing place!!
The plant life there is truly amazing!!
Too bad you couldn't have found a bit of the wildlife to shoot as well.
I assume it's a fairly dangerous place with all the critters it contains?
Gus, as all have said, those are wonderful photos! Except for the commentary I would not have known about the humidity being so bad. It is pretty bad here in the summer.
My photos went south and no one could figure out why. Especially not me who was used to praise and adulation, etc. Was quite frustrating. Finally someone visited here and said it was the constant haze and humidity. I just thought it was air, who knew................ Rutt suggested using the black channel in CMY....whatever. I did that, and it helped. Do you have any tricks you use?
What is the humidity in the rain forest? Ours can go at about 80% for days, usually goes down and up some, but stays pretty high (in the summer). Photography here really picks up in the winter, our sunsets are better, everything seems to look better, except that it is not green.
Anyway, those are wonderful photos, well worth stopping for!
Outstanding Gus. Marvelous use of light and colors.

Cool pics mate
Having been on exercise to the Land Warfare Centre at Canungra several times, I can vouch for how hot and steaming it can get in a rainforest.

It's been raining like crazy here too. We've had well over 300mm this year, where the average is under 100mm for Jan and Feb.
