Just got a new Nikkor 300mm, f4, AF-S this week. Tried it out at soccer yesterday. This lens focuses fast and seems pretty sharp. Any comments?

Looks like a keeper Mitch. You captured some nice action with these shots. The backgrounds at these types of venues are tough. Your second shot with the trees in the background looks to be the sweet spot at that field. Keep 'em coming. I've got 3 in soccer this season, and am helping coach two of the teams, so no time for shooting :cry .

ain't those long lenses fun on the soccer field? I got my canon 100-400 L zoom in late Dec. and I'm really enjoying it!

Like tmlphoto, I've got multiple kids playing, but I let hubby do the coaching/ref'ing while I take the pictures. That way we all stay busy. :D

    enjoy,
    Colleen
