What a great dog! Thanks for the photos, Nick. Amazing, isn't it, that a week ago everyone was wondering what had happened to winter?

Which Canon? A DSLR would have been useless as all of my posted pics were shot from my knee level using the S9000 tilt out LCD.

A Canon P&S would have too much noise.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

reminds me of The Matrix when Neo say's

"so you're telling me I can dodge bullets?"

    and Morpheus says

"I'm telling you that you won't have to".

you need to free your mind friend. those are hardly epic shots. (even copywright protected?) the whole idea of digital is having the freedom to take the bad shot. shoot from the hip dude. shoot upside down. live dangerously. everyone seems to think if the shots not perfectly composed and set its an unworthy shot. we aren't getting any younger you know.

try the John Daly approach. Grip it and rip it.

and get a Canon for those low light situations OK?

    Hi Amadeus,

These ARE epic shots. The dog is my good friend whisky. Whenever he sees me on the side walk he pulls his owner, my good friend Sandy, until he gets to me for my pet and attention. Of course, when my wife Carole ( red coat in the pitures) is with me Whisky goes right past me to her.

The joy on the dog's face while bathing in the snow is a onetime chance. I was able to capture it with my S9000, never would have with my D30 nor D60, nor F-828, for reasons explained above.

I shot my S9000 just like I usd to shoot my Bronica Sq.

Digital may give you freedom to take a bad shot, but your subject may not give you a second chance.

I copyright all my pics due to being victimized by a some smart.ss forum keyboardmasturbater (new word) who altered my image and somehow my subject saw it on the web.

    Regards, Nicholas
