I updated the raw file in photo shop cs to the 2.2 file.. I have a new 20D and I tell the canon's softwear to transfer into photoshop cs but it always crashes or will not load. So i found the plugin and updated it but i see that the .cr2 is not an option as I do now have a lot more options for raw files. ANDY!?!? I know you have a 20D.. and feed back? do you change the stuff you need to in canon's softwear then make it a jpg and edit it in photoshop?:dunno Any and all feed back will be great! Has any one used photoshop 9.0? I hear it's out.. maybe it will support the .cr2? I still have to learn how to use photo cs!

you need to modify the .8bi file that is the adobe camera raw plug in.

here's one way (i've not used this one)

    here's the method i used

these folks actually had the modified file hosted here, not sure if it's still good

your photos will open in acr, the wb will be off in the the thumbnails, you must click on "auto" when you open the file in acr. then you're fine.

    RAW converters
Why would Canon release a camera w/o having raw converters for PS ready to go?

acr is controlled by adobe. canon did give dpp, their raw converter, with the 20d box. it works fine, too ....

I partially understand your response, and you partially understand my question. :)

When we release a new processor, we make sure that there is a GNU port for compilers and assemblers waiting to be released. We make sure there are any companion system-level chips ready to go. In other words, sales enablement. Having an ACR port ready to go with a new camera is part of that sales enablement.

Unless Canon thinks using their RAW converter with their supplied software is all you really need...
