another idea. comments? thanks everyone. as you can, i'm new here. i'm looking to enhance my photography knowledge and i think competitions is a great way to learn to always go that extra step.
Gee, can't quite make up my mind on those. I like the color better on the first one, but the second one seems a bit more tidy? The amber in the fist shot has some specks in it that maybe could be cloned out?
I do think they are interesting shots and fit CH58.
If you can re-shoot this and clear up the bubble, you have a very nice shot. Of the two, I like the second. To my mind:
Better composition - the first one seems to have had it's "head" chopped/cropped off.
Better exposure - the brighter light helps to bring out the amber color much better.
If you want to crop the top of the glasses off, do you want to consider cropping all of the glass lip out of the image. Have a little bit of the glass lip in the image seems, to me, to be distracting.
In both, the short DOF helps focus the eye on the colored liquid - very nicely done (I just hope that was your intent:):).
So now you have my $.02 worth - I like the concept and the images.
