Hero Cards, need ideas

I think the Sports forum might be a good place for this, but the moderator is free to move this if necessary.

The kart track I shoot for is wanting to put together a "hero card" for the entrants in a charity race. It will likely be an 8.5 by 11" borderless print. Here is my starting guidance from him:

Components:
Bio (Brief) includes non racing stuff as well.
Statistics
Goals
Dreams
The photo component could be a collage from Bill’s existing library and or he could get a head shot of each Driver as well.

I have some ideas on how to go about this but was interested in knowing if anyone has done this, has examples, or suggestions. Thanks.

What about something that was a BW background of various karting
shots and a subdued color shot of your hero overlayed? If you can
keep the text to a minimum or even print it on the back (like a baseball
    card), that might work best.

Your poster for the kart races a while back would be a great start.
