Now talk about love - I have to thank my wife for letting get out of the house on this bum knee just because she knew I needed it. Still in love after 43 years.

...but on to the photo. This was shot in Cades Cove today and this buck was looking for food whereever he could find it.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    How neat!
What a nice shot! We "may" get a dusting of snow in the "mountains" here in the bay area. I have already alerted my daughter so we can go visit the snow, about 40 minutes from us in the San Francisco bay area... It's been years, only once, since we moved out here 20 years ago that we've been able to easily visit snow so we're looking forward to this rare event.

I know I won't see any deer trying to forage for food though...

Lovely composition Dixiethumb.gif. Looks sharp too. I think the lighting would have been better if the sun was shining down on him from the front, but that sun just doesn't cooperate sometimes, or the critters just don't want to stand where we want them to be.

Thanks, Harry. The recovery is going well as I went up to the Smoky Mountains to shoot some winter scenes this weekend. Yesterday was week six in recovery. I had to be careful on the ice and snow, but I managed okay. I even to two short hikes of 1/2 a mile and a mile yesterday in the ice and snow so I'm getting there.

Thanks, Dee. Regretfully, the Smokies had about 6 inches of snow, but the park service wouldn't let us into the good places until the snow was well on the way to melting. It snowed Friday through Sunday afternoon, but we couldn't get into Cades Cove until about 10 AM and then it warmed up so much the snow was all but gone by 1-2 PM

Thanks, Angelo. Here is a copy of what I replied to Harry just a minute ago. :):

Thanks, Steve. You're right about the critters and the sun not doing what's needed of them. That's why I was forced to shoot tight. I also had the terrain going against me in that I was shooting over an embankment which was about four feet high and covered with ice and snow. My leg still wasn't good enough to fight it up the hill under those conditions. If I could have gotten up over the bank I should have been able to move around to the opposite side. ...but alas, I did with what I had. :D
