    Not sure if this is a bug, but it could be improved on. When in Critique mode, if you click on the L for a large picture, the critique mode goes away. I understand why, theres no room for the EXIF information, but when I click on M (medium) to get the EXIF back, it doesn't work :( I have to load up another style to reset, then go back to the Critique style.

    If I have Critique style forced in the menu, and someone else clicks on L, they won't be able to get back to Critique mode even after switching to M and moving to another picture!

    Not having Critique mode with L photos make sense, but you should let them get back to their mode after seeing the larger picture eek7.gif

    when you're in singleimage view, the album title in the breadcrumb is a link back to the gallery. so if you are in singleImage large, just click the album title and it will take you back to critique

    Ah, ok thanks! I guess I'm just tired lol. I'm sure some would have problems figuring this out though.

    Yes, they will. They click on the breadcrumb:

    I liked the changes. Thank you! I really do prefer the lightbox now that those gears are gone.

    Regarding the Critique style, I noticed the only time the option to EDIT keywords from the link located to the right of the photo is when keywords are already assigned to a photo. If a photo has no keywords, then the EDIT option is not there.

    Sure would be great if that option was available on all photos!

    Thanks again for all the changes!

    Of course it's not a bug, it's just my own stupidity. I have "can your friends edit edit captions & keywords?" turned off on certain galleries. On those galleries I can't see the keyword edit button. I guess I thought that I was preventing my friends from editing keywords, not myself when I'm logged on!

    Sigh! I have so much to learn...

    Lightbox is light years better than before. I think I am starting to like it now that it does some obvious things right (not resizing the window, progressive loading, etc).

    The critique mode is great. Is there any way of forcing a particular viewing style (journal/critique/smugmug etc.) on standard accounts. If not (I have a feeling that this is the case), any chance of blessing us poor standard users with this feature in the future?

    Keep up the great work!

    I was one of the most vocal complainers about the lightbox feature, so, now it is time for me to speak up again.

    Thank you smugmug and smugmug dev team. If this is what the lb looked like when it first came out, i dont think id have had anything to say (well, that isnt true, i always have ideas). This fixes my largest complaints. On that note, i also like being able to use arrow keys to navigate the LB, very nice.

    I also like the loupe and the critiqe mode. I dont find the swtich between large and medium losing the critique view intuitive at all (but then i dont use bread crumbs ever), but we'll see where it goes.

    Again, thanks for listening, i appreciate it.

    Critique style
    Hi,

    Unless I have missed it totally, have I stumbled onto something new? Critique style... I like it a lot but think the smugloupe could go quite a bit tighter, maybe 3x.

    Thanks!

    Ahhhh, still getting the hang of this, sorry! mwink.gif

    Hey, the loupe seems a bit weird, an image of mine that is 6000px x 4000px can only 1.8x the loupe but an image 1000px x 750px can 3.2x the loupe. How can you get a 10x loupe?

    Thanks!

    You must have originals turned off. If you have originals on, we go up to 10x - then we look to see if you have larges on, and use that.

    Lightbox under does not work under IE60.
    Kewl changes.... but...

    Lightbox under IE6.0 does not work (for me at least).
    Try to go to this gallery:
    http://www.streetsofboston.com/gallery/1198812

    Then click on a picture. The lightbox should come up. It does not. Instead, just the scrollbars on the browser (<body>'s scrollbars) disappear.

    When dynamically execute this CSS (using Web Accessibility Toolbar):
    #lightBoxStage
    {
    height: 1000px;
    width: 1000px;
    }
    then the lightbox does show up with a height and width of 1000px.
    It seems that the lightbox has an initial size of 0 and doesn't show up.

    Could this be fixed please. thumb.gif
    It all works fine under FireFox (1.5)

    IE6.0 'hangs' when moving from pic to pic in Critique style gallery
    This is for IE6.0 only.

    Try to go to this gallery:
    http://www.streetsofboston.com/gallery/1198812

    Then click on the 'Next >' button (to the right of the number '32'). Briefly the background of the '<Prev 1 of 32 Next>' text turns transparent (????). Then the browser starts loading an image and this lasts forever. The CPU goes to almost 100% and stays there forever. The page never really finishes loading (e.g. the <body onload> event is never called).

    If i try to open another browser window and do it again, i get an error message: A pop-up stating
    Internet Explorer can not open the Internet site http:/www.streetsofboston.com/gallery/1198812/56078139.
    Operation aborted.

    When i close the first browser window or hit its back-button (the one sitting at a 100% cpu), this error message will go away and CPU goes down to normal.... until i click the 'Next > ' button again.

    Update: I added this line to my JavaScript:
    showImagePreview = false;
    Now this error no longer happens (but, of course, image-preview no longer works).

    I can no longer change picture size in .singleImage view
    When i go to one of my galleries and go to a single image view (body with class singleImage), i had a working 'Change Picture Size' menu-iten on top of my page.

    It no longer works, since the document.photosize_chooser element (was a ) is gone. I get a JavaScript error.

    How can i fix this? How does one change the image-size in a single-image view?

    I see. The element with ID="sizePicker" used to be a element. Now it is a

    Hi, thanks for the changes! Two questions:

    1. If we turn off Originals, can we not have the "O" show up under viewing size? It seems in Traditional viewing mode that the O is still a size but it produces a Large size file. So maybe when O is off, can it not show as a view size option?

    2. Not sure about the little preview thumbs when moving through a gallery, can that be turned off?

    Thanks again for the changes, best, Shane

    Deselecting smugloupe while loading gives mixed results
    Most obvious/noted on IE6.0 or when network is slow. This is not a biggy :)

    Go to a 'Critique' Style. Select the 'smugloupe' checkbox. Before it finishes loading, de-select it. It keeps 'loading...' forever. If you re-select it, it starts doing funky things (seems to be loading twice: once when you selected the first time, the other when you selected the second time).

    Now i'm going into bed ! :-)

    It is not easy for Smugmug to offer full customizability (no limits are specified) and at the same time to implement changes without breaking users' sites. But it would be nice if users would get an e-mail about upcoming changes (not only the fact that stuff changes, but also the exact changes). I've asked this before, but it seems not to happen. I have to browse Dgrin for such information of go to my control panel. I check my e-mail much more often than the other 2....

    The clever smugmug folks can probably answer this better than me, but I think this is the same bug that is crashing recent versions of Netscape and Mozilla as well. If I understood it correctly there is a javascript boo-boo in the current version of the lightbox and some of the browsers were not gracefully trapping the exception (namely they are just crashing instead!). JT indicated he found the offending line of javascript and sometime soon they'll have an updated version on the site. Since all the browsers smugmug tests on (the most popular ones) handled the bad code OK they hadn't seen the error prior to going live with it. Or at least that is my (possibly defective) understanding of it :D.
