The only one that does anything for me is #4, and while it's a nice shot, it doesn't really tell a story...

#3 is a nice texture, but... again, missing something (different framing/angle/DOF?).

I think i'm going to have to say #4's my fave.

Didn't intend for it to tell a story.
It's all about the lighting...wood textures and solitude of it. ne_nau.gif

That's all that one is about is the texture. (pores in the wood in macro)

Well I like the first. Have you thought about a B&W conversion? With the light and texture it might work nicely.

    Then you succeeded wonderfully! :D

The more I look at the macro of the wood, the cooler it is. It just didn't really hit me with much at first.

I agree with you the color/contrast combo on #4 is very nice appealing to the eye. However i think a tighter angle would be more suiting for the shot!

I do like number 1 best, the color is nice, great depth and it kinda grabs the eye! Nice shot

#1: I always wanted to try such a birch branches thing, but it never turned out very good - I like yours even though it's really busy - the dark blue sky adds a lot to it.
#3: the wood macro has nice structures - I do like such texture photos.
#4: the little well is great! It's my favorite too. thumb.gif

    Thanx for the kind comments!

#1 it was hard to get past the business of it as most Birch Trees have a ton of branches going everywhere. Was looking at the abstractness of it.

#3 Just has a lot of diff things in it....pores of the wood....cracks and such.

#4 Just gotta love a bright day with cloud cover to bring out good saturation. The natural wood and the simpleness of it caught my eye for awhile now. Just needed a good sharp lens for the shot and now I have it.
The background bothered me a bit but there was little I could do.
Other angles present worse obstacles!! ne_nau.gif
