Recently I bought 2 sync cords, 2 flashes, and a hot shoe adapter so the sync cords are compatible with my 717 but I want to get both flashes going at the same time both of sync cords. I know they make adapters for this but I can't find the one I need. It has to be PC Male to attach to the hot shoe adapter, then the other ports need to be PC Male aswell for the sync cords to attatch to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I understand what you're trying to do, you want both flashes to go off at the same time. See if you can set up the second flash as a slave. Then you only have to plug the sync cord in the first flash. When flash one fires it will trigger the second flash. That's the way I think most folks to it.

    cheers,

This is absolutely the way to go...slaves are realitively inexpensive...from around $20.00 new or even cheaper on ebay used...I picked up 2 for $15 including shipping.

Which type of slave? Would a peanut slave be the way to go? They sell for about $40 at my local shop.

Also check to see if your flash units have built-in slaves. Both my Nikon SB-800 and Alien Bees 800's can operate as slaves without anything extra.

That would be perfect...I do not know the brand I picked up but looked kinda unique..they were a clear gold color could actually see the circuitry inside and have small suction cups to keep them in place on flash heads.

The more expensive a slave usually only means taht i will activate from a longer distance or weaker flash and it may mean it is more sensitive in outdoor situations....some really cheap slaves will not fire outdoors unless using a real powerful flash to trigger it....

usually a store owner or clerk will aloow you to try it out so they don't have to bother with a return if you are not happy.

Some of the newer hotshoe flashes do have built in slaves or wireless triggering devices....

Awesome, thanks alot. One of my flashes has a built in optical slave but it isn't to reliable so I think I will take the chance and buy a peanut slave. Thanks again.
