Nice ones Thusie. That character in the first one is looking pretty wild
Thanks Steve. It sort of hard to believe the difference in the quality of the crop on the goose, especially the detail in the neck feathers.
Don went nuts over your Anna's hummer shots "what lens did he use (we can't afford it dear) how far away (that I can ask)" He loves hummingbirds.
The wild thing in the first shot was "communing with the conifers" his words
Congrats on the new wheels.....ughm camera. Hope you enjoy the view and post many photos.
Nice birdy. I think I might have cropped it a bit. Kind of smack dab in the middle..eh?
Thanks Mike. Your right not the best crop job, not very creative, not even basic. That said I was so thrilled (huge crop as it is) it stayed so nice I just left it. I just get way to excited when anything I shoot, especially a bird, is in focus, my brain cells tank. Pitiful.
Gonna enjoy my morning coffee thinking of your happiness with a huge crop! That is a good thing, never quite thought of it that way, but it is very good.
Most of my lenses, my glass lenses don't get such crops, but there are other factors: exposure off, etc. When I get a bad crop, I figure I screwed up.

ginger (congratulations)
Ahaa Ginger, Don's term for it was 'pathetic', meaning me. I'm yelling for him to come look, he is upstairs watch TV, he looks.."Honey its a goose", pats me on the head (I hate it when he does that) and says "I think we need to get you some longer glass". Translated "don't run me down here to look at a goose you dingbat".
Thanks much for looking and yep I'm extremely happy.
Good wildlife shot and the goose wasn't bad either.

Nice Thusie!!!
Geese are fun! Reminds me of this shot I got at a local park in Spring 2005.
Took some peanuts for the Squirrels and these geese were in pecking range of my lens!! This one was about 10ft away...had to wait for em to move He was too close!
No crop needed!! Lotsa eye glint!
But this was done with my 8mp Sony 828 at the time.
Can't wait to see what I can get with a DSLR!
