Hello all. This would be my first post on Digital Grin after being sent here by a fellow by the name of Andy on the Adventure Rider forum.

Most of my picture taking is done when I'm out and about walking or biking, hence the majority of my pictures are Scottish landscapes.

For my first post I thought I would post my last round of pictures I took when out walking around North Loch Tay. Critical abuse and outright insults are most welcome :)

    Very Excellent Pics
The composition, topic, theme, concept of all are really excellent.

    I particularly love #s 1, 2, and 4.

These are examples of why Scotland is on my list of "Places to Visit".

    Just fantastic!thumb.gif

In the last, the darker colored grass are a subtle lead to the point of interest of the photo - the building. Very nice.

#3 foreground is too dark for my taste. Don't know how to fix it as correcting the exposure of the forground will really blowout the high-lights of the light through the clouds. For me, this would be a candidate for a little digital merging.

I know what you mean about this one, I have actually lightened the foreground ever so slightly using the burn tool in photoshop. In general though I am trying to stay away from using photoshop with my photos apart from minor tweaks and contrast corrections. This is not down to any puritanical ethos, it's just that I know I can use photoshop, it's my photography that I want to improve and I can really only do that by keeping the pictures as true as possible.

That and I'm also really lazy :D

the only thing I'll say is that I'd like to see the second one a little wider on both sides so the tree and former building don't feel so crowded... but that's a minor quibble, those are verrrry good pictures icon_pirate.gif

I hadn't thought of it in those terms. I will have to re-evaluate my use of PS, 'cause, 'Lord knows, I want to improve my photography.

Please excuse me while search for a corner wherein I can contemplate my navel and arrive at the new answer for me.
