can't log out

Sorry-- searched "log out" and nothing came up (words are too short?). But I know I've seen a post here on this.
I can't log out of my smugmug site. I click "log out" in my footer, it keeps me logged in. I click log out in my control panel, I'm still logged in. Obviously, I forgot to check the "don't keep me logged in box"... when I logged in, but does this mean I can't log out? Ever? What do I need to do? Clear cookies?

Hi Pete,
What url are you logging out from?

You can also just go to www.smugmug.com and click "logout" btw.

Andy:
That was the problem. I knew it was something simple-- and had no idea it was the url. Thank you for your help.

They are too short for dgrin. BUT BUT SmugHelp to the rescue, when you use the search box in SmugMug help, you get instant results even from 3letter words

I can log out from my smugmug.petespringer.com page. No problems.
But then when I type in my url that forwards to the smug site (www.petespringer.com), I'm still logged in. Even after logging out there and on the smugmug.petespringer.com. Hmm. Any ideas?

Yes, it's a custom URL (http://focused.nl/) and I would expect that to just work, when I pay for a pro account to have that custom URL. I don't look forward to having to go via www.smugmug.com or .smugmug.com first. Can this be fixed please?
Thanks!
Paul

What exactly is the problem with the cookies? If they just come out of focused.nl there shouldn't be any, unless of course they aren't... I'm a little disappointed by the way the custom domain stuff is hacked together since I frequently run into my *.smugmug.com domain name, which I don't want to have show up everywhere as my business card has focused.nl on it. I'm not upset, but I'm trying to make this a better site, and I think having the cookies generated from my own domainname is a step in the direction of fixing this issue, even though you say there's "nothing to fix".
Where? I'd like to know because this shouldn't happen
Please fix your footer CSS, it's not permissible to hide our name and copyright, thanks:

It's so that the site will work with our stuff and your domain, thanks!

I'm not hiding it though, it's merely in dark characters. There's nothing in your rules that mentions that isn't allowed, or that says it has to be of a certain amount of contrast. Let me know what is an acceptable amount, but maybe you can fix my domain issues first, then I'd be a much happier complying and paying customer ;-)
But can you explain what the problem is please?
This happens for example when I login via www.smugmug.com and then click on "go to your homepage". That link presented is http://focusedphotography.smugmug.com/ and not http://focused.nl/

Hang in there, and thanks! We've gotten most of these pesky links cnamed, sorry about this one!

I don't use a CNAME, instead I just point an A RR to 63.81.134.23 as it's not possible to use a CNAME for the domain name itself as it also contains other RRs such as the SOA and you can't mix CNAME and other RRs.
I do this stuff for a living (I work for a company that makes DNS software) so hopefully I have some idea what I'm talking about
