Here are the raw results from a photo shoot I did yesterday.

It's for a bunch of 4th year Fashion Communication students who have a final project of designing a spread for FLARE magazine, they are in charge of getting all of the outfits, models, location, concept, and of course, photographer!

For the sacrifice of 250 clicks, (75$ worth of wear & tear on my equip), I came out with some pretty nice results.

The setup was:
Canon 420EX fill from left from a 36" reflector mounted on a manfrotto stand
Sigma 500DG from right through a 42" umbrella, again, mounted on a stand.
On-camera Sigma 500DG with my home-made "Hairy Phong's LSPJIII", controlling the 2 off camera lites.

Some highlights:

More in the gallery!

Enjoy.

She's gorgeous and so is her dress.

Is she represented with an agency in TO?

Both expressions are great. Nice shot. I'm stealing your candle idea, too. :)

Bump to give a few more people the chance to see it.

Can we have a new gallery for fashion, modelling, and haute-couture style stuff?

Hey Scott - how about numbering your photos so we can reference them easily when commenting?

#3 is the only one that stands out for me but you should crop out the stone wall creeping in at the top of the frame and use a healing brush to soften that bright spot of light on the right.

Bad shadows and poor styling techniques are hurting the other shots.

    1. Why the kid lovers beware caution? That confused me.
    2. I like image 1. The only suggestion I would make is to crop the right side heavily. The window is a distraction.
    3. Image 2 I would have framed horizontally instead of vertically. An even lower angle (you and her) plus a little arch in her back would be my other suggestions. As is it looks posed.
    4. Image 3 is a good idea. I think I'll steal it also. :D Suggestions would be to crop heavily the wall. Nothing but floor. Also frame so the lines are parallel. Just my tastes again though.
    5. Image 4 I just don't like the look of the male model. I'd also suggest cropping the top some.
    6. Image 5 I wish he were encroaching on her personal space more (posing) and crop the bottom slightly.

Of course. Nothing's been post-processed yet. I'm pretending like it's film, trying to look at the raw result and skill, rather than how well I can work photoshop.

    Thanks for the (two) looks!

Agreed. I didn't go tight enough, but since these are for a magazine spread, I figgured I'd give them the choice of cropping. (once the photos are delivered, I have very little input as to the layout or shot choice.

    Thanks for the look!

P.S. The kid lover's joke is that this forum has a HUGE quantity of kid photos, and a bunch of us younger photographers are shooting different subjects than the older folks 'round here ^_^ (note, I said older, not Old :-P )
