    Hi Nick,
We got some snow around here recently too. Not anywhere near what you got. Just some dusting of the hills ne_nau.gif But, it only happens every 3 or 4 years. So it is somewhat rare.

Looking at your pics I was surprised to see that little blue flower left by the melting snow. Must be one rugged little flower.

I don't think photos convey time-lapse action very well. I was thinking you could have shot some small video clips instead. You know, sort of like old Disney time-lapse segments they used in those 1950's Nature films. Maybe 2-3 seconds worth every 15-20 minutes. I think that would have showed the snow clearly receding and maybe even shown some movement. Just a thought. :D

    Hi Steve,

I did not intend to display a series of time-lapse shots. I displayed the two shots 24 hours apart only to show how much snow was on the ground.

I do believe the buds only bloomed once the snow melted, during the 24 hour window I shot.

Another reason for my post was to explain the manner in which I had to take the flower close-ups, as the brief captions indicate, hoping it may prove useful to others encountering such an amazing display of Mother Nature. The ground was soaking wet when stepped on.

    Thanks for your comments.

    Regards, Nicholas
