Hi Y'all,

There will be more shots of eagles, caracaras, hawks, herons and egrets coming. I figured I would give some time to some less well known birds.

In the shot above PF is explaining to Bob about his less than successful attempt to conceal the fact that he's shooting with a white lens. :rofl

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice work Harry. Thanks for posting these. You have helped me out IDing some of the birds I photographed down there. Those Grebes are pretty skiddish & hard to photograph. I'll post some of my own "other birds".
    Thanks for sharing.

I wasn't trying to hide my lens, Harry. I was just trying to be considerate of the less fortunate Nikonians that did not have any white lenses.:D :D More like I didn't want to blind you with its brilliance!!

I got this guy with that camo'd lens

And this fella was also caught with a white lens - maybe you recognize himrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

Nice set Harry. I enjoy seeing the different birds. A couple images might be improved with less of a downshot perspective, maybe those retired knees are a little stiff :lol4

Thanks Thomas. Those grebes aren't easy. They go under as soon as they realize that you are present.

Thanks Vandana. I enjoy shooting these little fellas as much as I do shooting the bigger birds. My teal is a female.

Thanks Steve. I would love to get a different angle but when you're shooting from a tripod from atop of a dike with a 500mm lens it ain't easy to get much lower. They will have to lower the dikes or raise the water.

Thanks Trish. I have just about recovered from the shoot. Eight days in a row of getting up at 5:30 and then shooting from sunrise to sunset was a tad tiring
