E-500 Flash

I recently purchased an Olympus E-500 DSLR. I am very happy with the results I have been getting from this fantastic camera. I am looking to purchase a flash for the camera. Olympus has the FL36 and the FL50. The FL50 is much more expensive. The charts show it is slightly faster and 1 stop more powerful, but I am not sure if the benefits of the FL50 are worth the extra money and bulk. Is it worth paying $400 instead of $180 for the upgrade?
Also, how much bulkier is the FL50?
I would be using the flash primarilly as a fill flash, and for any indoor work.
